Import of Chinese-Made Equipment

That process might be achievable with
Chinese-made equipment.

Importing Chinese-Made Equipment

"Cheap and low quality" is a thing of the past. Chinese-made equipment has grown enormously over the past decade, now combining low cost with solid quality. It has reached a level where it is a genuine option even when replacing aging equipment, and in some fields, Chinese-made equipment now outperforms Japanese-made equipment, or offers capabilities that don't exist in Japanese-made equipment at all.

That said, compared with raw materials and supplies, equipment involves higher cost, effort, and risk, and many companies still feel that introducing Chinese-made equipment is risky. Western Japan Trading has supported customers across a wide range of industries in introducing Chinese-made equipment. This page introduces how Western Japan Trading approaches the introduction of Chinese-made equipment.

    Review

    Review
Where can we find equipment that matches our current specifications? / We can't read Chinese spec sheets and aren't sure how to interpret them. / We're not sure our requirements are getting across correctly in English. / Can we trust the manufacturer? / We want custom specifications but can't communicate them.

Once you provide your existing specification information, our staff, who are well-versed in each industry, search for candidates from across China. Specification discussions are conducted in Chinese to ensure the manufacturer understands correctly, and we interpret and translate for you at every step. Our Japanese staff understand Chinese and our Chinese staff understand Japanese, ensuring information is communicated accurately. Leave custom or special specifications that go beyond the standard spec to us as well.

    Contract

    Contract
We're worried the contract may only comply with Chinese law. / A Chinese-language contract is a hassle to get approved internally. / We want to negotiate more favorable terms. / Could the manufacturer disappear after we pay a deposit?

Western Japan Trading has been handling contracts compliant with Chinese law since our founding, with thorough risk-management practices. With Japanese customers, we sign contracts compliant with Japanese law, allowing us to hedge overseas legal risk. We can also negotiate individual clauses and define detailed provisions such as after-sales service.

    Transport

    Transport
Will the goods be packed properly? / We want a pre-shipment inspection. / We're concerned about Chinese export regulations. / Will customs clearance go smoothly?

Western Japan Trading has a local subsidiary in China and an extensive track record of exporting equipment. We monitor the latest regulatory developments and prepare thoroughly to ensure exports proceed without delay. Our local staff can also check the contents and packaging before shipment and prepare a report.

    Installation

    Installation
We're worried whether the job will be done properly through to the end. / We're concerned about communication if the installation engineer is Chinese. / We're worried whether problems will be handled properly if they arise.

Western Japan Trading has staff fluent in Chinese who accompany the manufacturer's engineers during installation. If a problem occurs, we coordinate with our local subsidiary in China to encourage a prompt response from the manufacturer. Even if the manufacturer is unable to travel to Japan, our China-based manufacturing subsidiary can undertake the installation work.
